Is it going to be bad weather during your winter holidays? Then you should wear one of our hardshell ski pants. This type of pants will give you the best protection during the winter sports, even in the worst weather conditions. Hardshell ski pants are not insulated but they provide a shell protecting against rain and wind. They consist of 2 or 3 layers:
- 3L: These pants consist of an outer layer that is glued together with a membrane. There is also a lining bonded to the membrane (lining is not an insulation). All three layers are glued together creating one laminate. This type of pants are extremely durable.
- 2L: In this type of pants, the outer layer is bonded to the membrane but the lining (which is not an insulation) is not glued to the membrane but hangs loosely inside the pants. 2-layer pants are usually cheaper and more comfortable.
In bad weather conditions hardshell ski pants are more suitable than softshell pants. Hardshell is waterproof and windproof, so it is perfect to wear in the storms. The ventilation carries transpiration away. Pay attention to the fact that hardshell ski pants do not stretch, so keep that in mind when you select your size.
On the other hand, the softshell ski pants are perfect for sunny days on the slopes and cool summer nights on the skates. The advantage of the softshell material is the stretch, so you will experience optimal freedom of movement. This type of pants is more suitable for sunny days on the slopes because it has a single layer without lining. When it is warm outside, softshell ski pants are more suitable than hardshell ski pants.
